Since the beginning PdV has opened the doors of the Convent not only to pilgrims but also to youth informal education participating to the European Voluntary Service, and is a Youth Tourism Centre (Centro Turistico Giovanile – CTG) . It is also associated with the Italian section of World-Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF), WWOOFers.
Punti di Vista has for many years been a “member” of the Via Francigena European Association and is dedicated to the cultural promotion of the Francigena way. Members and visitors tend and plant and the old and new gardens that surround the Convent.
PdV itself engages in responsible tourism with its service for pilgrims and visitors seeking to enjoy a stay that respects people and the environment.
Given the beauty and specialness of the place, PdV also specialises in environmental education with the help of public funding (including the Municipality of Rome, Province of Viterbo, the Lazio Region, and the European Commission). PdV organisesraises awareness of the need for a sustainable future, the need to reduce waste and the environmental impacts of behaviours and mechanisms of consumption.
PdV participated in ETRUSCAN, an alternative mobility project, co financed by the European Union’s LIFE+ Programme, with the following partners: Province of Viterbo, the Università dellaTuscia, the Municipality of Acquapendente and the Province of Savona.
PdV works with the he Municipality of Rome to support vulnerable (homeless) citizens by creating micro-economies and subsequent exchanges.
In the last years PdV has begun to work more with universities, UN, NGOs and self development groups hosting a range of events on food security and resilience, environment, gender, alternative economics and climate change.
